Yesterday, State Senator Jason Anivitarte announced a bill he is authoring that would require a local school board to notify parents and students if an act of cyberbullying may be considered stalking. I fully support this legislation and will help as needed through the legislative process.
This is a great first step toward bringing parents into the conversation and renewing the trust between our schools and parents. Cyberbullying is a serious act and should be taken as such.
As your next State School Superintendent, I will continue to support good legislation that protects students and supports parental involvement. Together, we can take back our schools.
